This would help them to identify and sort puzzles of different shapes and sizes and also improve their fine-motor skills respectively. The outcome of such games would be a better understanding of jig-saw puzzles and putting them together. These are the ways by which you can help your child to perform complex functions like sorting puzzles. |

Proto-imperative pointing, which is pointing and integrating the object of interest with eye contact between the object and the caregiver, is also achieved by this age.

The children may inhale the second-hand smoke, which is the mainstream or side stream smoke or the third-hand smoke that remains on the skin, hair, furniture, clothing areas. Both second-hand and third-hand smoke are harmful for the child as children have smaller airways that have yet not developed and their immune system being lesser developed than the adults. |

I would suggest you to make efforts to either quit smoking or try your best to make the home environment as well as your car free from smoke. If exposed to smoke, your child may develop lung problems like asthma, bronchitis, ear infections, pneumonia, tonsilitis and other problems as it may affect the child’s developing brain. And, being a mother, you are in the closest proximity to the child, it is thus, better for both of you to keep smoking at bay. |

However, I suggest you to go according to the recommendations of American Academy of Pediatrics according to whom the infants and toddlers should be seated in a rear-facing car seat until they have reached maximum of the size and height limits as recommended by the seat manufacturer. The reason behind using such a seating arrangement is that it cradles the head, neck and torso of the child in a crash and saves them from dying. So, I would advise you to buy a rear-facing seat for the child to be seated at the back of the car. |
